Our HIV/AIDS Care Bears,beautifully decorated with beadwork has proved to be successful in offering employment to rural women who are able to work from their homes.
On buying a Care Bear families are issued with an adoption certificate and funds go towards supporting a vulnerable child at our shelter.

At the beginning of December,Leonard Coetzee and representatives from Spur visited Open Door with a large donation of food and drinks and other products which they collected both from Spur and their service providers.
The food and drink was taken to our satellite centres in Hammarsdale and Mariannridge where a Christmas lunch for the two communities was held. All enjoyed the day and we would like to extend our thanks to Spur for their generosity and Christmas spirit.
Staff at Varsity College Westville recently got into the Christmas spirit by organising a toy drive for Open Door. The college’s staff organised dozens of toys for the crisis centre which was collected by Open Door’s Thora Mansfield on Friday. Phume,Project Coordinator at Open Door said,“We are so blessed and lucky to have had such a large donation brought to us.” The gifts were taken to our Mariannridge centre where they were distributed to children within the community at the centre’s christmas lunch.
